FoliMAX Phosphite+ is a highly concentrated phosphorus and potassium liquid fertiliser containing mono- and di-potassium salts of phosphorous acid (potassium phosphite). It provides a clear, highly soluble solution that is rapidly available to plants via both foliar and root uptake.

FoliMAX Phosphite+ is designed to quickly correct potassium deficiencies while improving plant vigour, health and growth. The inclusion of Vitamin B1 supports root development and recovery, making it ideal for use during establishment, renovation and stress periods.

Key Features & Benefits of FoliMAX Phosphite+

  • Readily plant available potassium for correcting deficiencies
  • Sustained release form of phosphorus over several weeks
  • Improves plant vigour, health and growth
  • Activates the plant’s natural immune defence response
  • Ideal for germination and turf establishment
  • Enhances recovery following renovation activities
  • Contains Vitamin B1 for improved root development
  • Flexible application rates for different turf programs
  • Highly soluble formulation for efficient uptake
  • Manufactured in Australia for local conditions

How FoliMAX Phosphite+ Works

FoliMAX Phosphite+ delivers potassium phosphite, which is absorbed into plant cells as phosphite ions. Unlike phosphate, phosphite contains one less oxygen atom and does not participate directly in phosphorus metabolism within the plant.

Although phosphite is readily transported within plant tissue, it is not immediately used in metabolic processes. Over time, soil bacteria convert phosphite into phosphate, which can then be utilised by the plant.

In addition to its nutritional role, potassium phosphite plays a key role in plant health by activating the plant’s internal defence mechanisms. This helps suppress the development of certain plant pathogens and improves resilience during stressful growing conditions.

Vitamin B1 further enhances plant performance by supporting root regeneration and development, particularly in situations where plants are under stress from salinity, disease or nutrient imbalance.

Problems It Controls with FoliMAX Phosphite+

  • Potassium deficiencies in turf
  • Poor plant vigour and weak growth
  • Slow recovery after renovation or stress
  • Reduced root development
  • Increased susceptibility to plant pathogens
  • Poor establishment during germination

Where to Use FoliMAX Phosphite+

  • Golf greens, fairways and sports fields
  • Turf establishment and germination programs
  • Renovation and recovery programs
  • Turf under environmental or disease stress
  • Landscape and ornamental plants

How to Use FoliMAX Phosphite+

  • Apply as a foliar spray or soil drench depending on requirement
  • Apply in a minimum of 800L water per hectare
  • Irrigate with 3–6mm following soil applications
  • Avoid mowing for 24 hours after application
  • Repeat every 14–30 days during the active growing season

Application Rates:
Foliar Application:

  • 6–12L/ha

Soil Application:

  • 6–15L/ha

Landscape / Ornamental Plants:

  • 170–295mL per 100L water

Potassium Phosphite and Plant Health

Potassium phosphite is absorbed into plant cells and transported throughout the plant, contributing to improved plant health and stress tolerance.

Research has shown that phosphite applications can improve turf quality under stress conditions. According to the study shown on page 2 of the brochure, turf treated with potassium phosphite maintained higher quality ratings compared to untreated and potassium phosphate-treated turf during periods of heat and humidity stress.

Vitamin B1 and Root Development

Vitamin B1 is produced in plant foliage and transported to the root system, where it plays a key role in root growth and development.

It supports root regeneration in plants affected by stress conditions such as salinity, disease or nutrient imbalance. Because plants under stress may not produce sufficient Vitamin B1, supplementation acts as a backup to support healthy root function and development.

Common Questions About FoliMAX Phosphite+

  • What is FoliMAX Phosphite+ used for? It is used to improve plant health, correct potassium deficiencies and enhance stress tolerance in turf.
  • Is phosphite the same as phosphate? No, phosphite is different and does not directly participate in phosphorus metabolism, but can convert to phosphate in soil over time.
  • How does it improve plant health? It activates the plant’s natural defence mechanisms and supports growth during stress conditions.
  • Can it be used during renovation? Yes, it is ideal for use following renovation to improve recovery and root development.
  • Is it safe to tank mix? It can be tank mixed, but due to its acidic nature, a jar test is recommended before mixing.
